Patsy Gilmour, Storbritannien - dömer Whippet, tikar + BIR

I have had a love affair with whippets for over fifty years. I was thrilled to be asked to do bitches at the sight hound club 2017. I felt very honoured to have judged this lovely show four times, I first judged the show in 1981and Sweden has always been close to my heart.

I came into the breed in the early 60s and awarded my first set of CCs for the National Whippet Ass. in 1980. My first overseas appointment was Skokloster 1981. I have judged the breed in Australia, America, Canada, Belgium, Finland, Norway, Germany Austria and Southern Irel and.

My first CC winner was a small fawn bitch Lowglen Micant Madonna, and my first Ch was Ch Lowglen Newbold Cavalier. He was a very inbred dog and was a wonderful sire his dam was a father and daughter mating Ch Ravensdowne Bright Star to Ch Laguna Ravensdowne Astri one of the greatest bitches of all time, his sire was my Skydiver of Lowglen he as out of a Hardknott bitch by Ch Towercrest Flarepath Taurus his dam was Astris sister. He was the foundation of the Lowglen Kennel. All through my time in the breed it has been the boys who played the biggest part and I was content to have a puppy back sired by them. Later the Hillsdown Kennel played a big part as did the imports Rivarco Classic Jazz and Ch.Sportingfield Winged Dove my beloved Dolly, when she died I lost heart to carry on showing.I could write a book but am not going to it is too complicated. Below is a list of Champions handled by me and I was very proud of them all.

Ch.Lowglen Newbold Cavalier, Ch Flarepath  Astrinought of Lowglen , Ch Black Knight of Carmodian, Ch Lowerdon Soldier Blue, Ch Dumbriton River Rhapsody,Ch Solera  Scarlett Ribbons of Lowgen, Ch Allgarth Edelweiss, Ch Lowglen Holly Go Lightly,Ch. Lowglen Singing Bede, Ch Savillepark Summer Season, Ch Dumbriton Wild About Harry, Ch. Fawnbree Special Brew at Dumbriton .The great Ch Novacroft Madrigal, Ch Elleona Dancing Home to Dumbriton. Ch Birkonbrae Everlastin Love, Ch Birkonbrae Forever Love, Ch Kabaray single Malt of Dumbriton owned in partnership with my god friend Sue Ross Ch Winged Dove, Ch Classic Jazz who is behind many of todays top winners.

After my divorce Roger Stock took me under the Courthill Flag, we started with a Classic Jazz daughter and mated her to Int nat Ch Dumbriton Casting Stone a son of Single Malt, from this mating came the lovely Ch. Courthill Cast a Shadow Esmee, she was mated to Ch Collooney He's The One a son of Adagio Love supreme and produced Ch Courthill Cast A Spell, Ch Courthill Catcher In the Rye, Ch Courthill Carmen Cleeve And Casting Shadow winner of 2 ccs from her next litter by Ch Courthill Crimson Pirate she produced Ch Couthill Crimson Shadow and the two bitches made up by the Whipcat kennel in Germany, tragically Esmee broke her back and it left Roger and I heartbroken. Winged Dove when mated to Ch. Peperone Solid Gold produced two Ch sons Ch. Courthill Chase Manhattan and Courthill Come Fly with Me the sire of Ch. Courthill Coeur De Lyon. Last but not least owned with my friend Jo Davies Ch Marimay Moses and the lovely Turnstone Tiger Lily 2 CCs 6  RCCs. Nearly all the above have got connections to my males. I now live with four whippets one Bull Terrier and the most adorable French Bulldog bought for me to ease the pain of Dolly, she is called Paloma which means dove. I will not keep anymore dogs but will always there if someone throws a show lead at me.

Emma North Row, Irland - dömer Skotsk Hjorthund på lördagen och Whippet, hanar på söndagen

I am 4th generation of hound breeder/shower/judge. I owned and campaigned GB/Ir Ch Drissaig Hesta around Barmaud in Deerhounds and am currently showing a Group-winning bitch.

In Whippets I campaigned GB ChFullerton Agile Star inBarmaud from a three champion bitch litter. She produced an Irish champion and Barmaud How Sweet It Is who, when given to Christer Vik, produced a Swedish champion.
I look forward to judging wonderful dogs this weekend.

Molly Rule Steele, Australien - dömer Saluki, hanar

Taejaan was registered as a kennel in 1973. At the time I had Afghan Hounds.

We bred some worthy champions during the 80s, and the  breed is still very dear to my heart.

We added whippets to the family in the late  80s, and Salukis a little later.

I am licensed to judge all hounds. It has been an honour to be invited to adjudicate at many prestigious shows worldwide having judged afghan Hound, saluki and Whippet specialties and the hound group.

We have titled well over 100 champions with many Specialty, All Breeds Best In Show winners, Supreme and Grand Champions.

I have a passion for the saluki breed. Although we don't breed often we have bred and owned many Best In Show winners at All Breeds and Specialty level.

We are proud to have bred BIS Ch Taejaan Erin Brokovich who produced many champions around the globe.

My foundation was a lovely red bitch bred by Margaret Giles of Kiabe kennels Ch Kiabe Shahira. Her pedigree boasted American and Finnish bloodlines.

Today we have the youngsters BIS Ch Taejaan Jewel Of The Nile and Royal BOB winner Ch Taejaan Sand Of Time both going back to Shahira.

I am honoured to be invited to judge at your shows.

I look forward to visiting Sweden again, and very excited to meet your lovely Salukis.

Wilfriede Schwerm-Hahne, Tyskland - dömer Azawakh, Chart Polski, Cirneco dell Etna, Faraohund och Sloughi på lördagen och Afghanhund och Greyhound på söndagen

I became a member of the Sighthound Club of Germany (DWZRV) in 1968 at the age of 24, soon after I had met the breeder of the „ von Katwiga“- Afghans, Mrs. E. Rödde. So my first sighthound was naturally an Afghan. The next 15 years I got „educated“ in training, handling and showing dogs. I visited numerous shows in Europe and was later strongly involved in the breeding programme of this kennel. By that time I owned three afghans, amongst them Multi Champion and World Winner 72 - Haboob von Katwiga - who is up until today still one of  the most successful sires in the Germany Afghan history.

In the mid-seventies, I became introduced to one of our oldest Saluki breeders at that time in Germany, Mrs. M. Hessing, „Mumtachir-ar-rih“ Kennel, who based her breeding programme in the early fifties on several imports, for example „Mazuri and “of Sonnenheim”  (MRS.HOPE WATERS once imported Biwakuf of SONNENHEIM to England!), and some other very old German Saluki lines in Germany: She also used dogs from the Netherlands like van de ORANJE MANEGE. The big influence in her kennel was undoubtedly some imports from Iraque. This friendship was kept until to her sudden death and led to a closer approach and knowledge to the breed and also the several visits to the SAMOEM’s – Kennel and as well as to el SARAJE. Their Co-Owner ship and breeding plans were cancelled, when Mrs. Hessing died and more than 15 salukis had to be placed. Finally I kept one dog myself, a grizzle dog. I showed him only several times, won 2 BOB and 1 BIS and retired him at the age of 6 years. He was a beloved member of our family and died at the age of nearly 16 years.

In 1978 I got my judging license for Afghans, in 1979 also for Salukis, 1986 I became a specialist for Irish Wolfhounds and Deerhounds. (I am a member of the Scottish Deerhound Club since the eighties) I visited the Dava Coursing for Deerhounds and Salukis twice. I travelled a lot, to breed-shows, Crufts. I was lucky to visit the Hope Waters Kennel and I met Ernest Tebbs and Chris Ormsby at Dava.

In the seventies I lived near Marion and Theo Marpe home. IW Kennel Ard Ri. They started with Erindale Kelly, Brian and Lorrimar and  we became very close friends. Together we travelled several times to the Crufts and Windsor Shows. I had the opportunity to see all of their litters and together we made breeding plans and the pick of the litter all the time. Of course I was very often at the Kennel “Oelmühle, Gentle Giants and others. Together with Willi Hasselbrink I went to the first show and EIWC Congress in Netherlands.

As I said in 1983 I became member of the Scottish Deerhound Club and I was twice at Dava Coursing in Scottland. I learned a lot about these 2 breeds due to the visits to famous breeders like Honest Anastasia Noble, Ardkinglas and Norah Hartley, Rotherwood.

Next to showing and judging activities I am also a member of our local Sighthound Club and organizer of several breed-workshops and meetings. I have held up presentations about the anatomy of dogs and gave explanatory comments on breed standards.  In 1989 I became elected Chairman of the German Sighthound Judges in the DWZRV. A very important part of my work was the education of the new judges and to keep contact between the Board of our Sighthound Club and the Judges. In 2013, I became elected president of the German sighthound Club, DWZRV and put all my influence to our prestigious sighthound show in Donaueschingen.

Next to some other prestigious shows in Scandinavia, France, Great Britain, I have had the honour to judge the FCI World-Winner shows twice. (Netherlands in 1993 and Germany 1991) I was also very honoured to judge the Skokloster Summer Show three times and to judge the Salukis on the Egyptian Event in the US, Kentucky. Another highlight was  judging the IW Specialty in Northern Ireland.

John Walton Haddon, Storbritannien - dömer Saluki, tikar + BIR

I became involved in showing Saluki in 1975 when I met my future wife, whose mother had owned them since the mid 60’s.  We showed and bred under the ILSHAM kennel name and had a lot of success in the UK, making up several Champions. In 1982 we owned the top winning saluki for that year in CH.ILSHAM MARQUE.

Prior to Saluki, I owned Bullmastiff and Pembroke Corgi and in the 80’s I became involved with PBGV, and more recently Rhodesian Ridgeback but Saluki’s were always present in the home, and still are, that is over 50yrs of unbroken saluki ownership at ILSHAM.

I started judging in 1979 and am qualified for a number of hound breeds as well as the Hound Group. My interest in and judging of hounds has taken me all over the UK, Europe, Australia and USA.

I am very much looking forward to judging Salukis for the first time in Sweden.

Vlastislav Vojtek, Slovakien - dömer Italiensk Vinthund, Galgo Español, Magyar Agar, Podenco Canario och Podenco Ibicenco

I bought my first hound ever in 1974. It was an Afghan Hound bitch already from Slovak breeding. In the times of communism conditions for breeding were much curtailed. We could travel only to Hungary and Poland. Other European countries were for people from Czechoslovakia inaccessible. In 1978 the first litter with which we started the GANDAMAK breeding was born.

For breeding we used only our own bitches, and from those only the best ones. Still under the communism regime, we used studs whose owners we could persuade to undergo all the bureaucracy in order to get admission to enter Slovakia. These were owners of the dogs Shareenka Sunwarrior from England, Fangio al Ghazi from West Berlin, El Kaira's Egyptian Moon Dust from Germany, and Risa Chan's Imgur from Austria.

The breeding conditions changed distinctly after the communism regime fell. We could travel. Our horizons in the Afghan Hound breed have broadened. And in particular and most importantly, we could travel to some larger shows where we could see more Afghans than in our country.

In 1991 and 1992 we used the Danish dog Windsurf's Brutus in our breeding. He was mated to our girl Korzika Gandamak out of whom we then had two excellent litters – "U" and "W". In each of these litters there were four International Champions and some multiple champions as well as World and European Winners – Uday, Urias, Ursula, Ula, Waterlo, Wiliam Shakespeare, Whitney Houston, and Westend Girl.

Westend Girl was probably our most successful bitch. She took part in three World Shows. At the age of 22 months she won the open class with entry of 48 bitches in 1994. In 1995 she went World Winner in Brussels. And in 1996 she went Reserve World Winner in Vienna, beaten by her own sister Whitney Houston.

Then we used dogs Khabardar Buena Vista, Boxadan Double Trouble, Boxadan Xercise Master, Exxos Devil Eyes, H'le Viking Du Menuel Galopin, Boxadan Don't Wonder Why, and Kashara Diza Sensation as studs in our breeding. One of the most successful litters in Europe was born out of our Whitney Houston by Kashara Diza Sensation. Out of seven puppies six of them became International Champions + at least fivefold champions – Fibi, Fabien, Firefly, Fan Fan, Flesh Gordon, Fletcher Cristian, and Franco Nero.

Franco Nero went Junior World Winner in Milan in 2000 and European Winner in 2007. Flesh Gordon went Reserve World Winner in Dortmund in
2003. Fibi went European Winner in Bratislava in 2003 and Veteran World Winner in Bratislava in 2009.

From the litter of six sired by Kingsleah Blue Star out of our Fibi, five puppies – Justin, Julliano, Jacquelin Kenedy, Jessica and Jennies Joplin – have become International Champions and own various titles. Jennies Joplin went Junior European Winner in Barcelona in 2004, European Winner and BOB in Vienna in 2005, and World Winner in Poznan in 2006. In 2006 she took part in the Eukanuba Challenge World Finale in Los Angeles as well. Jessica went Veteran World Winner in 2012.

In the litter sired by Aviva Coeur a Coeur out of our girl Jennies Joplin Gandamak were born nine puppies in 2007. Again six of them have become International Champions and multiple champions – Orlando, Ozzy Osbourne, Omar Sharif, Oudry, Olivia Newton J., and Oxanne. Ornela Muti is also a champion and Oprah is Champion of Sweden, Norway and Finland. Oudry can boast the title of Reserve World Winner 2010 from Denmark. She was our ever first dog that went US Champion. Most recently she won the title of European Winner 2012 in Bucharest where she went Res. BIS in the end, too. Oxanne is Top Afghan Hound in Italy for years 2010 and 2011. Ozzy Osbourne is multiple BIS. Olivia Newton J. is multiple BIS and Super BIS.   In the litter sired by Star't Cutting Trax of Jhanzi out of our Jennies Joplin Gandamak were born ten puppies in 2010. Eight of them they are champions and are waiting for their titles of International Champion.  Our last three litters: Mijkelh Sikanni of Procyon out of our Tracy Chapman Gandamak and Markus Aurelius Gandamak out of our Oxanne Gandamak and Aviva T all black  out of our Tracy Chapman Gandamak.     It were ours last three and very promising litters for the moment. We do not breed many litters in our kennel, but we strive for maintaining the quality.

To summarize it; in our kennel we have bred 85 International Champions and 420 national champions from 32 countries around the world.  Then our dogs won titles:

World Winner 1995, 1996, 2006 & 2015 Vice World Winner 1996, 2003 & 2010 Junior World Winner 2000 & 2015 Veteran World Winner 2009 & 2012 Europa Winner 1993, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2012 & 2013 Slovak Champion of Champions 1996, 1999, 2001, 2003 & 2006.  Czech Champion of Champions
Hungarian Champion of Champions

My career as a judge started in 1980 when I started with judging Afghan Hounds. Then in 1985 I became a judge for the whole FCI Group 10. Since 2000 I have started to extend my judging scope to other breeds. So, to this day I am judging the following breeds:

Group 1. Bearded Collie, Border Collie, Welsh Corgi Cardigan, Welsh Corgi Pembroke Group 2. Doberman, Rottweiler, Pincher, Zwergpincher Group 5. Alaskan Malamute, American Akita, Basenji, Cirneco dell´Etna,   Pharaoh Hound, Perro Sin Pello Del Peru, Podenco Ibizenco,  Podenco Portugues, Podenco Canario, Samoyed, Shiba,   Siberian Husky Group 6. Dalmatian, Rhodesian Ridgeback Group 7. Hungarian Wire-haired Pointing Dog, Hungarian Short-haired Pointing Dog Group 9. Chinese Crested Dog Group 10. all    I have judged in England, Dubai, Scandinavia, South Africa, Israel, USA, Australia and Russia, and practically all over the Europe. I had the honour to judge at two world dog shows – in Poland in 2006 and in France in 2011, and the World Champion of Champions for the anniversary 100 year of the FCI in Brussel-Belgium in 2011.

I am honoured by invitation and am looking forward to judging Stromsholm palace show 2017
